Biography

Pietro Engaged as a Stone Mason.

Pietro Lo Curto is a Corleone native resident, son of Maestro Rosolino lo Curto and Antonina Stilla, who married in 1811. He is named after his paternal grandfather.

Based on his son's profession, I presume Pietro and his father, who are both master artisans, are in the same profession.

Pietro's father remarries in 1828, indicating his mother has died by this time.

Maestro Pietro marries Liboria Triolo, daughter of the living Maestro Giovanni Triolo and the late Rosa Bordonaro, on 4 September 1836.^[1]

Pietro and Liboria have at least four children: Rosa (c. 1837), Antonina (c. 1838), Rosolino (c. 1840), and Giuseppe (1855).

Rosa is born around 1837, based on her reported age at death.

Antonina is named after her paternal grandmother. I estimate she is born around 1838, a couple years after her parents marry.

Rosolino is born around 1840, based on his reported age at death. He is named after his paternal grandfather.

Rosa marries Bernardo Gagliano on 29 January 1850.^[2]

Giuseppe lo Curto, the son of Maestro Pietro lo Curto, a bricklayer, and Liboria Triolo, is born on 21 April 1855 at his parents' home on via del Carmine in Corleone.^[3]

Antonina marries Ciro Majuri, a widower, in May 1859.^[4][5]

Rosolino marries at least twice -- first to Apollonia Rizzo, who dies sometime before April 1872, when he marries for the second time, to Francesca Bonanno.^[6][7]

Rosa dies at the reported age of 36 (b. 1837) on 27 September 1873 in her home on via Buccerie in Corleone. She is survived by her husband, Bernardo Gagliano, and her parents.^[8]

Giuseppe marries Paola Marullo around November 1878.^[9]

Rosolino dies at the age of 76 in June 1916 in Manhattan. His occupation is listed as "mason", and his residence at time of death is listed as 245 East 59th Street. He is buried at Calvary Cemetery.^[10]
